lately this photo was entered into the 'photo of the week' competition of the monofacture group. The current winner is a picture of a street, taken by a guy who dropped his f down to 1.4 and took a picture outside his front door.
for this picture i traveled to hong kong FROM IRELAND, used a ten dollar tripod and waited in the cold and wind for 6 hours. for christ sake.
Now one of the home made critics at a certain group has refused to accept this work. He says the foreground is too distracting. Well, this is the highest point of view overlooking the city of Hong Kong. This is the best and the most clear view of the night city. It sits beneath the peak like a diamond in a ring. That is a hill side, all that can be seen of the city can be seen here.
To have your attention drawn to the dark, rather than the amazing naturally framed city, is a sign of odd cognition and perhaps a paranoid personality. In other words, your opinion is worth as much as a dog turd on a pile of vomit.
